Schools in Lithuania are generally divided into public and private schools. Public schools are funded by the state or municipality and provide education according to the national curriculum. Private schools are independently managed and may offer different educational approaches, programmes, or additional services. Private schools usually charge tuition fees, while education in public schools is generally free of charge.
